The Royal Military College: The Next Level
Sgt. Azmi has called upon our training services again. This is getting to be a habit and we're loving it!

For 3 days, right up to New Year's Eve, both Pureen and I were conducting the Edius Video Editing course (Intermediate Level) at The Royal Military College. We were at RMC only a month ago in December to train Sergeant Azmi and colleagues on the Novice Level course and we're delighted to be back again

"We selected you as our trainers because you are different and better than the rest."
Kept. Alias bin Baharuddin, TLDM
The Commandant, The Royal Military College
Kem Perdana, Sungai Besi,
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
A pleasant surprise awaited us as we headed towards the officer's mess for our tea break. I was walking ahead with Sgt. Azmi while Pureen accompanied the rest a little farther back. As we entered the room, two things happened: Sgt. Azmi stood at rapt attention with a salute as my eyes settled on the crisp white uniform of a senior ranking naval officer with stripes on his shoulders and a collection of ribbons on his chest.

It seems despite the advancement in training technology, nothing beats markers and white board
That morning, Pureen and I we were lucky enough to share the same table with RMC's commandant, Kept. Alias bin Baharuddin, for mid-morning tea (a Kepten in our Navy is a equivalent to a full Colonel in our Army). His words of wisdom to us were to be innovative and stand out from the competition. He praised us with these words, 'We selected you as our trainers because you are different and better than the rest'.

Azha and Irma share a lighthearted moment as Pureen looks on
We were too shy to ask for a snapshot with him but knowing how Kept. Alias felt about our services, we will be back soon enough
The Edius Video Editing Course (Intermediate Level) was full of challenges and tasked each participant. New techniques and terms were introduced to complement those that were covered during the Novice Level.

Sgt. Azmi was even using the animation techniques he learned during class to complete a last-minute video presentation for their New Year's Eve party.

Exam time was tensed as each participant expanded their efforts to complete the questions. Out of 4 questions, they could choose to answer 2 while the final project is compulsory. Irma, from the Academic Division and the only lady participant, gave her 110% and completed everything on the exam sheet!

Although they had a challenging yet engaging experience, everyone graduated and received their Certificate of Completion. They were looking forward to the new year when they can put their new Edius skills to good use. We left RMC as the sun began to set, feeling happy for our new graduates and eager to return soon to conduct more training
Royal Military College: Edius graduates
Yesterday, WolFang Digital conducted the Edius Video Editing Workshop at The Royal Military College and graduated a selected number of their teaching staff.

Trainees listen to their brief and prepare for their exam
The Royal Military College is where our country transforms ordinary youths into outstanding military officers. Known locally as MTD (Maktab Tentera Diraja), the campus boasts a vast network of 456 PCs for the convenience of its students and staff. On the same grounds, the National Defense University (UPNM) stands proud and tall.

In this 2 days (Novice Level) course, participants were required to pass an exam which challenged them on the topics they have learnt. Upon passing the exam, each participant received an official Certificate of Completion from WolFang Digital, on behalf of Grass Valley.

Towards noon, we handed out the exam questions. After lunch, they would be given an hour to complete their assignments. Having read them, our trainees told us they'd rather sacrifice their lunch to explore Edius further. Seeing such dedication, we are as proud to hand out the certificates as the participants were to receive them.

Baron (Silver Level trainer) signing the certificates
Of course we managed to convince them to grab a bite in town. Their idea of 'town' is a quaint little gathering of shops, mini-markets and eateries less than a mile off base. Officers and enlisted men enjoyed their meals in groups. There were as many civilian contractors here as there were military personnel.

One of our trainees, Irma, is a real life army wife. Her husband is a Captain in the army. She claims life is similar to the TV series 'Army Wives'. She has to be self-dependent because her husband is always in the field. Irma lives off-base because she'd rather not see more camouflage shirts around her house.

Both Pureen and I worked as a tactical team. Pureen monitored the participants from the back while I remained up front to lecture. She assisted trainees who were lagging behind so I didn't have to pause the training session. Since Pureen is also a certified Edius trainer, she is as good as I am in helping the slower participants to move forward.

Irma received her Certificate before dashing off to her son's babysitter
Another trainee, Sergeant Azmi, has the cool job of shooting and editing all videos pertaining to RMC events. He brought along a video of their cadets firing rifles at the shooting range. Sergeant Azmi can't wait to start his next project with Edius!

Edius Video Editing Workshop at The Royal Military College
The military has finally seen Edius in action. They have experienced the best video editing software in the market. When warriors have to edit videos, Sergeant Azmi is now armed with the state-of-the-art equipment and the skills to produce great looking videos
